Week 8 pic

My pants are getting tight already, and it is hard to button them. Very uncomfortable as well. I'm definitely noticing a difference, but I doubt anyone else would at the moment.

Still feeling great, going out for a girl's night tonight with some ladies from work. Should be fun.

Insurance

So I spoke with our insurance today, trying to get an in-network exception for the midwife. It was really easy this morning, I was on the phone for only 13 minutes, and got an authorization code covering Leslie. I was so excited, I didn't think to ask any more questions. But as soon as I got off the phone, I remembered some things I needed to ask, so I called back later, and found out that it wasn't that easy.

The authorization code they gave me only covers office visits and "treatment", whatever that means. So I need to call Leslie (or maybe her insurance billing company) and have them call the insurance company to give them the exact things that Leslie will be billing them for, such as the delivery and anything else. Hopefully, since I already have an authorization code for her, they'll be able to easily add on all this other stuff.

I was prepared to have to fight them for it this morning, and was pretty amazed that I got an authorization code so quickly. Too bad it wasn't exactly what I needed.

Oh, and I found out that Nathan and I have separate deductibles. We both have to meet our separate deductible for the year. Nathan has already met his, and I have barely put a dent in mine. So we will have to pay that, and then insurance will cover 80% after that. So it looks like we'll be paying a little for this birth, but definately much less then if we were having a hospital birth.

Week 7

So, if it's at all possible, I'm feeling even more tired today then I have been. And I also noticed something weird this past week. I'm losing a lot of hair! It's not falling out in clumps or anything, but whenever I comb my hair, a bunch comes out! I'm shedding almost as much as the dog :)

I've been craving some shrimp for a few days, so we went to Red Lobster for supper last night and I got shrimp linguini alfredo. It was so good, hit the spot.

Oh, and we scheduled our first prenatal appointment for April 28th at 1pm. I'm excited, I'll be at 10 weeks then, and the midwife said we should be able to hear the heartbeat :) I can't wait! I'm supposed to call the insurance company before then and try to get it all worked out to have Leslie (midwife) covered as an in-network provider. Hopefully, we'll be able to do that without having to jump through a lot of hoops.

6 Weeks

This is my 6 week belly picture. I've decided I want to take one every week. I'm feeling really good for the most part, just really tired. No morning sickness or anything like that. Though, for the past couple of days, I haven't been sleeping really well. I keep waking up around 4 or 5, and can't fall back to sleep after that. I also caught a cold this week, so that makes me even more tired. I left work early yesterday because I really didn't feel good. I basically just slept the whole day, and I feel a lot better today.

Nathan and I met with the midwife Tuesday night and it went really well! I liked her a lot, and I'm pretty sure that's what we are going to do. We're just going to talk about it a little bit more and make sure of our decision before we call her back.

It's been hard going to work every day. I find it really hard to concentrate, and I just don't want to be here any more. I want to try to work as long as possible, but I think that's going to be harder then I had originally thought. I also can't wait for school to be over. I am taking one class right now that is requiring a lot of me, and I'm struggling with it already, and it's only the 3 week of class. But I need this class to graduate, so I'll just have to push through it.
